“I want to be a pilot when I grow up!” My oldest said this for quite a few years when he was young. Although now that he’s older, his aspirations have changed. I do not know what job or career he will have when he’s grown. Though as long as he keeps his love for God and whatever he does, he does it for God’s glory, I will be happy and consider him successful. He will be grown, sooner than I’m honestly completely ready for. This goes for both of my boys. Whatever they decide to do when they grow up, I pray that it’s where God has called them to be. We can fight for our kids to have the best education and encourage good grades. We can push towards college or trade school. Although what is even more important, where true success is, is their relationship with the Lord. In our intentions to plan for our children’s future, may we especially teach, educate, and nurture their faith. For if they have God in their life first and foremost, everything else will fall into place. For teaching them to know, love, and walk with the Lord will give them not just success here, but true success that will stick with them to eternity. Friend, whatever our children become, may we set them up with the right foundation; truly knowing and loving the Lord. Truly teaching them, with eternity in mind.
