The cardinal was my grandma’s favorite bird. She especially loved the bright red of the male cardinal. There was something extra captivating about the red against the white snow of winter. We have a male and female cardinal that visit us frequently and I smile as it makes me think of her. It is so incredible how such a small creature coated in feathers has the ability to withstand all seasons, especially the winter. Yet, God knew the winter would come and so built the cardinal strong enough to stay warm in the cold. Like us my friend, we go through many seasons. Yet, God knew we would. Just as He equipped the cardinals to handle all sorts of weather, He too, equips us to be able to get through it all. With Him as our guide and our strength, our hope, we can withstand whatever season we are in. God designed the cardinals to get through it, and with Him, we too will whenever we go through the hard parts of life. For if He took so much thought and care into even a bird, can you imagine what He’s done for us, His children? Whenever we see a cardinal, may we be reminded of how beautifully made we are too. Crafted by our Maker, guided by His love to make it through all the seasons of life.
