Companionship

My husband and I painted our bathroom. Although I really like it, we are not professional painters by any means. It may have taken us longer to complete the project, it may not be as great as someone more experienced and we were much messier than if we were professionals, we felt successful. For despite some imperfections, I wouldn’t change a thing. It was my husband and I using our resources, bonding and accomplishing a goal together. It was less about perfection and more about the experience and the end goal. We laughed, sang and listened to our favorite songs, had teamwork, and we spent the whole day watching a long-awaited goal come to life. Although we did have some hiccups along the way. We were reminded why my husband paints the baseboards and not me. I’m much better suited for a roller. I also managed to cover myself with paint, even on my face. I’m not a graceful painter. Though despite it, I look in my bathroom and I can’t help but smile. Me and my best friend, one room at a time making our dreams come true. For through the whole process, we found joy in all the moments and when we ran into hiccups, we hung onto the end goal. For it was a day of painting adventures and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Our bathroom looks great and the time we spent together, invaluable. For anything worth doing, always brings about more joy when spent with someone we love. Even when hiccups arrive and things get messy, it sure makes everything better to have someone alongside us helping us and cheering us on in our goals. For the end goal is always worth it. Friend, we need each other. Whether just in the day to day or painting a bathroom. Loved ones are a blessing from God. We need Him first and foremost. Though I believe that He made us with a need for one another. I look at my husband and I am grateful for the painting adventure today and grateful to God for blessing me with such a beautiful experience.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
