I won’t ever forget her. I don’t exactly remember what she looked like. But I remember her in her kindness towards a stranger. I never got her name, though if I picked one for her it would be Grace. I remember that she was dressed in humility and she was wheelchair bound. She was blind, with a young girl, maybe around twelve. I was in the checkout lane, right before her. My kids were very young at the time. I came up short that day for my groceries. I was an embarrassed young mom, worried on having the necessary food for my children. I felt defeated. I was going to have to put something back. Somehow the woman with no sight saw me in need. The young girl with her said that the older woman wanted to help pay the balance. I said it was too much, though the woman wanted to pay anyway. I was humbled and though I felt badly, I said yes for the sake of my children. I won’t ever forget her. She was truly a blessing from God that day. A woman who had her own struggles, and even without sight, was able to see the struggle of another human being. We really are all in this together. My friend, may we give in whatever way that God calls us to. For we all need a little extra love and care in this world.

Matthew 25:40 NIV
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Proverbs 19:17 NIV
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.
1 John 3:17-18 NIV
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
