There is a lot of advice out there on parenting; anywhere from psychologist to other parents. Each one believing in complete certainty on what they believe. It can be hard as a parent as we navigate parenting with all the advice and opinions being thrown at us. It can make us question at times if we’re doing it right. I was told years ago, not sure who first said it, that, “God gives us the children we are meant to parent.” Knowing we would be best suited to help nurture and help our child grow into whom God had planned. Though listening to the advice of others can be very wise, we must learn to weed out what’s best for our children and what is not. Each child has their own distinct personality and needs on how to be parented. Though to help us know what advice to take, we must always align our parenting in His word. Honestly, there are times where as my children enter new milestones and chapters, I’m still learning on how to best parent them. I’ve made mistakes as a parent and I’ve had to apologize to my children. Though through this journey, I want to know that I’ve done my best, as I am well aware of what a treasure they are. I always hope that they know how very loved they are, by me, my husband, and most of all, God. Through all of it, most of all, that I have nurtured their faith and taught them of their Lord and Savior. Parenting is the most special and grand adventure, and it’s not always easy. Though if we have God as our guide, we put Him number one in our lives, and love God first and foremost, it is there, we know we have truly done our best with our precious children.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NIV
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
