Dandelions

I love yellow roses. They are my very favorite. Although, there is also a special place in my heart for dandelions. Despite what many believe, thinking their weeds, they are indeed flowers. Ones that even have a purpose to help feed the bees, which we all need bees. They also have many health benefits to humans as well. However, beyond this, when my children were young, they always picked them for me. It was always such a treasure, when they would come running to me their little fists gripping dandelions between their small fingers with a smile so big. I used to leave little cups filled with a bit of water and these dandelions in them; displaying them as though they were a big beautiful bouquet. To me, they were. My boys thought of me and gifted me what they could and honestly, I do think that they’re pretty.  It got me thinking, how some people think we are just weeds and don’t value us the way that they should. They see us as of little value, or maybe even a nuisance. Though we are so much more than how someone sees us, we are how God sees us. That we are beautiful, with a purpose, treasured and loved beyond measure. Friend, like those beautiful dandelions, we too are filled with value and beauty to offer the world. We are treasured and made with a purpose. Whether or not others may see that. We are because God created us with intention and love. The days of my children picking mom dandelions have gone. Though I will always see these small yellow flowers as something wonderfully cherished. As I know, we all are by God.
