An older couple walked pass my husband and I and we both gave them a slight wave and smile. They continued forward offering nothing in return. I vented to my husband on how rude it was. Though my husband gently reminded me that it is our job to be kind, how they respond is up to them. I’ll admit it can be discouraging to offer kindness to people that don’t seem to reciprocate it. Though as Christians we must still spread love and kindness anyway. We don’t know what the other person is going through or their true character, but we know God’s. We know that God offers love and kindness always, even at times when we don’t deserve it. We too, must do the same. For a heart that gives love, whether reciprocated or not, is always giving the world more of what’s needed. May we keep spreading the same kindness and love, that God so generously gives to us.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
