He didn’t judge me for not knowing. He sat beside me so I would learn. Each step explaining to me, so I would understand. It is always a unique bonding experience when my husband and I work on our vehicles together. Although I’m not sure that I will ever be able to do the work on my own; with him, I feel capable and able. We sat there working on the brakes together. We weren’t just fixing up my vehicle, we were connecting, as I also was growing in knowledge.
It got me thinking, God is like that. He sits beside us, teaching us in His word and helping us to grow in understanding; lovingly so. I know for certain that I can’t do life without God. I know that I need to constantly stay connected to Him and deepen my relationship with Him always. For I know I need to constantly be growing in wisdom and knowledge to best make it in this life and to have one in the hereafter.
Friend, I needed my husband this evening to help me fix my brakes. I did because I knew I could accomplish it with his help. Just as I know I need God in life. Always helping me as I navigate it. May we all always remember how much we need God. Whether it’s fixing broken parts of ourselves or just simply helping us stay put together in life. For truly we all need God.
