Seek Wisdom

When I was a teenager, I remember at times thinking I knew more than my mom. I wanted to do things my way and didn’t always act with wisdom. These days I call her, to get wisdom. It’s funny how age humbles us, life humbles us. Even during those times where I pushed her wisdom to the side, she still was always there to offer it.

It got me thinking, God is like that. We sometimes don’t listen to what He instructs us to do. Sometimes we get humbled, other times we grow up and get wiser, sometimes a mix of both. Though God doesn’t give up on us. He’s always there ready to offer His wisdom, guidance and love. I can certainly say though I am still learning much, I’m wiser than I used to be.

As we grow in our faith, like growing up, we tend to appreciate wisdom more. In fact, we tend to seek it. Just as the more I grew, I sought my mom’s wisdom more. Friend, may we constantly seek wisdom; both from those that can offer it and especially seek it from God and His word. For I have found more joy in living wisely, than when my heart was filled with pride and uncontrolled emotion. May we seek wisdom always. May we especially seek wisdom in Him.

James 1:5 NIV

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
