I took a path, to the most important destination

One that offered me love and salvation

Though on my journey, I saw destruction

I needed help, I needed construction

I called out to Him, though I, He already knew

It’s as though He said, “I’ve been working within you,

For I created you, in the womb you I knit

Don’t think for a moment that my love did ever quit

I saw your sin, though I always offered you my grace

I’ve been here with you, in this place

I have watched every moment; I’ve been here all along

I have given you strength and kept you strong

Not once did I falter, nor walk away

I’ve been here since always, with a love that does stay

I know your journey now, like I knew it then

I’ve always been there, deep within

I know also what lies ahead

From the moment you wake and get out of bed

So, trust me my child, it is I, you can rely

My love doesn’t leave, I heard Him reply

So, I followed that path that led to my salvation

For it is Him, whose always been my destination
