Adventures of parenting

When I was a teenager, I thought I was living on edge. I was cool, bold and daring. Then, I became a mom, and was humbled and found that I’m living on edge even more so now; though much differently. Always worrying about my children and hoping I’m doing everything right as I raise them. Being a parent is an exciting, sometimes stressful, wonderful, sometimes nerve-wracking adventure. It’s amazing how much I love these boys of mine. To know that God loves them even more seems almost hard to fathom. Wow! I don’t even want to imagine how I could parent without God. The hard days would be harder and I’d live in more fear. Though knowing that my children are looked after by God, whom loves them even more than I, helps reassure my heart. There are times where as parents we go as far as we can to help guide, protect and shield them, then we just pray and trust God to go where we cannot. I have learned that parenting is the most cool, bold and daring adventure. Though unlike when I was young, it is the most precious one. Though I needed God when I was young, I very much need Him now; on this journey called, parenting. Friend, sometimes moments with our children our quiet and endearing, other times we are hanging tight on the edge. Though I am certain, without any doubt, that we can be confident that God is not only hanging tight to us, He is our children as well. May we trust God through the adventures of parenting.
