I passed a woman on the side of a busy road. She was young and toting around a suitcase. She looked like she was heading somewhere, though I’m not sure where. Though what I saw was a young woman, in the cold rain, looking a little displaced. Not too long ago I passed a man on a corner, asking for money. I don’t know what led him there, that’s not my place. Though what I saw is a broken man in need. I saw a post on a local informed site, looking for help with food for her struggling family. Some said it was a scam, though I’m not sure. Though what I saw is that whether scam or not, that person definitely needed help. There are times where I see myself, getting caught up in big feelings, losing sight of my blessings. Though I’m sure that those whom are suffering would see how ungrateful I am being. Sometimes we get so caught up when things are difficult, that we lose sight of the big picture. I think about the woman with the suitcase, that man struggling on the corner, that woman seeking help; though I don’t know what led them there, I feel bad for them. Though when I think about them, I know I need to stop and pray for them. I also need to stop and thank God for all He has done in my life. I was humbled today, and I needed it. I think most of us need to stop sometimes and really thank God for all He does for us. May we also help those in need in whatever way that we are able. Whether through reaching out, financially, or offering prayer. For as God has blessed us, may we be a blessing in the lives of others.
