Recently, I celebrated my one year since my life-saving blood transfusions. I am here because of God and the gift of blood donors. I am grateful and I am blessed. My husband now gives regularly since then, as much as he is able. I will never know those who helped save my life, though I am grateful for them. Though as I write this, I am also thinking about a different type of blood donation. How Jesus shed His blood, to give us all everlasting life. For that, I am beyond grateful and beyond blessed. We all are. When I was first told I needed my transfusion, I refused, I was scared. I didn’t want to believe that I needed it. Though the next day I was told if I didn’t receive it, I would surely pass. I knew the medical staff was right, so I listened. I’m here because of it. Friend, God sent His Son Jesus, knowing we would need Him, to truly live; both here and eternity with Him someday. May we listen and follow His word. For believe me, we need Him.
