I recently disappointed myself. Like most of us, we have our not no sunny moments at times. I found myself in one recently and being grumpy. Looking back, I feel bad about it. Having self-control and watching what we say and what we do is always important. Especially, when it is hardest to do so. Though I cannot rewind and change the behavior, I can learn from it. I can choose that no matter how I’m feeling, to choose self-control and kindness. To go to God in prayer when I’m especially struggling. I want people to know at all times my love for God by my character. When I don’t demonstrate self-control and I get grouchy, I am not showing good character or setting a good example. I am working on this. Friend, if you too struggle with this at times, may we go to God who can help us. May we choose to take a deep breath and pause. May we really be intentional and careful on the choices we make or the things that we say. For in doing so we can deepen our faith with God and show God’s goodness even through our actions.

“Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.”
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
