Shine your light

I’m going to be honest with you friends, I have been discouraged at times. I don’t have a whole lot of followers on Facebook or my website. I have watched many silly videos, reach millions of people. Yet, I reach far less. It’s not about me, though the more people I reach the more difference I can hopefully make with helping others in their faith walk. I have been writing daily devotionals for almost three years. Daily I have made sure one new devotional each time would be shared. At times even writing in a hospital bed, as I was very unwell. I have felt like almost giving up, as very few were reading it. Though I knew that the writing wasn’t just for others, but also myself and my walk with God. I also was reminded that even if I help but one person with my writing, then it is worth it. Society places emphasis on followers equating value. Though it doesn’t. Even in Bible times people didn’t want to hear the truth, though it still needed to be said and pursued. I also read something recently that to be paraphrased, a lot of times we make more of a difference than we realize. That we must keep shining our light. Someday we will see it did matter; it did make a difference.  If you’re like me, I want to make a difference for God’s glory. I will keep writing for as long as He calls. Friend, whatever God calls you to, for His glory, keep at it. Don’t be discouraged. It does matter; it does make a difference. For nothing for God’s glory is ever wasted. I will continue to write, you my friend, you continue to shine your light.

Matthew 5:16 NIV

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
