Many, many, years ago I knew a young man who was not very kind to me. He told me I wouldn’t amount to anything. He said many unkind things. Though everything mean he said that I was, I am not. Everything good that he said I couldn’t accomplish, I did, with the Lord’s help. I don’t share this in pity toward me or to show any unresolved animosity toward him. I forgave him many years ago and I hope that he has changed his heart and his ways. I share this with you my friend, as people will try to tell us our worth. Though only God has that authority. He tells us we are important, we are loved, we are to die for and we are enough. There are some who will hurt others and say unkind things, for whatever reason. Although we must remember to pay no mind, to those who don’t mind, being unkind. For those people truly need God. We need to pray for them, walk away, and let God do the rest. Then we must remember our worth in who God says we are. May we not let a cruel heart, tell us who we are and what we can do. For God has great plans for us. May we find our identity in Him. May we not be distracted from His plans, by someone’s cruelty. Friend, you are so special and God loves you so very much. If you encounter someone who tries to say otherwise, just go to God and you’ll always be reminded, just how loved and important you are.

1 John 3:1 NIV
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Jeremiah 31:3 NIV
The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
