God’s blessings

We lost power today. Ultimately, for only a very short bit. Though it was a quick reminder of how much I had taken it for granted. Suddenly I was worried about the food going bad in my fridge, my house staying warm, being able to cook food, having light, doing school work and getting laundry done. All the things that involve having electricity. Things I just naturally think will be there in working order. It was a good reminder for me. How often so many things, even just ordinary things, I take for granted. It took losing my electricity to remind me, how blessed I am to have it. God provides so much for us on a daily, that we forget to pause in gratitude for it all. Beyond the material stuff, I am filled with gratitude over the big stuff. Yes, my lovely home, my vehicles, clothing, food. Though bigger than that, my loved ones. May we pause in gratitude for this life and everything and especially everyone in it. Until, we get to our ultimate blessing. For truly God has been kind to us.

James 1:17 NIV

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
