When I was young, my friends and I played a game where we’d write down our hopes and dreams. In the same mix, we’d write down one thing that we didn’t want for our future. Afterall, we had to keep some fairness to it. In a nutshell, we’d play a counting game and whatever was left was our future answer. Now at the end of the day, we knew it was silly and all just pretend. We just loved to imagine what maybe our lives would be like someday when we grew up. Even if it would be completely different than everything we imagined. I randomly thought about this little game today. When we are young, we love to dream about our future. Where we will live, what will be our job, who we will marry, how many children we will have and so on. Although my little game didn’t predict my future, it was fun to dream about what my life would be like when I was grown. Although what I didn’t realize then, was how while I was trying to predict my future, God was already busy preparing me for it. Setting things up for my good, blessing me with so much more than a silly game could ever create. If I could go back and say something to younger me, I would laugh and say just to trust God. He’s got it all planned out. Even when things may be uncertain at times, it’s going to be great! Friend, we can’t predict our futures, but I am sure am glad that God holds it.
