I recently watched a video, where a cross was surrounded by debris from a fire that had previously happened. Even as the cross had been surrounded by that fire at one point, the cross still stood. It did not get burned by what surrounded it. It did not get consumed. It got me thinking about how there are times where we may feel surrounded by the heat of life, but God still stands. His love helping us to withstand. We need but go to Him and trust that even when we feel surrounded, we are still protected. Though things may feel consuming at times, we can rest knowing that through the cross we have eternal life. For just as that cross still stood, God still stands; guiding, protecting, and loving us, through it all. So, when we find ourselves in the heat, remember with God we won’t be overtaken by it.
