I thought of a memory today of when my youngest was much smaller. I remember being in a hurry, for a reason I don’t even recall. Though what I do remember is the lesson I learned on that day. He had been taking longer to get going than I had wanted him to. I was beginning to get frustrated wondering what he was doing that was holding us up, me up. As I hurriedly walked to him, to see what the hold up was, I was immediately humbled. For he had been picking me dandelions. Suddenly I was hit with guilt. I was in such a hurry, I didn’t stop to see the beauty, most of all, to realize my son just wanted to express his love for his mama with a kind gesture. I gladly received the flower from him and told him how pretty it was, and that I loved it. Life’s busyness can try to creep in and steal precious moments. May we just slow down and enjoy the dandelions. May we watch the wonder in our children, as they experience God’s nature. May we stop, slow down, and enjoy every special moment that we can with our children, and loved ones. For I do not remember where I was going that day, but I surely remember that special moment between my son and I. Friend, God gives us so many daily blessings. We must slow down and take the time to enjoy them.
