Today I am thinking about birthdays. When we were little, we celebrated our birthdays with enthusiasm. We looked forward to balloons, cupcakes, ice cream. It’s a big celebration of life and the opportunity to be a whole year older. Then, as we age, we stop celebrating it as much. In fact, some stop counting the years, in fear of getting old. Some don’t like the idea of aging. Though we shouldn’t fear ageing. In a sense, we should continue to celebrate like a child. Be happy that we are older! For life is a gift, aging is a blessing. Friend, life is temporary here. We don’t know how long that we have. May we live each day with gratitude. May we celebrate each year that God has blessed us with. May we not let fear or vanity take the place of celebrating life. For us believers, we have eternity with God someday and that’s something to especially look forward to most of all. However, we must live life here with purpose and appreciation for each day that He gives us too. May we be enthusiastic for this life, in which God has blessed us with!

The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.
