It is hard to have compassion towards people that seem to lack it. It is hard to pray for those that seem so undeserving. It is hard to turn our cheek and not retaliate when someone is being unkind. Though that’s exactly what we have been called to do. Jesus Himself still showed kindness, grace, compassion in adversity. While there were those that were downright rotten to Him, He did not react with hate. He did not repay evil for evil. He turned the other cheek, he healed an enemy’s ear, He chose to walk away. We do not have to accept bad behavior, but how we choose to respond makes all the difference. God seen it my friend. He saw how that person was unkind and lacking in compassion. He is just. He knows their heart, He knows ours. He will take care of it. In the meantime, we just need to handle things how Jesus would. Sometimes it is walking away, sometimes it is lovingly speaking truth, sometimes it looks like prayer. Though fighting back with anger at an angry person, will only fuel more hate. Though handling things like Jesus, allows for things to fully be set right. May we let God be God and may we handle things in a way which He would approve. For an action chosen in love, will always win against an action chosen in hate.
