I have learned that many of us praise God with music, differently. Some praise Him in quiet hymns. Some praise Him loudly with modern music. Our oldest son for instance, some of His Christian music is rap. Although not what we would choose for us, we have no problem with him listening to it. If that’s what genre of music connects Him to God. My husband enjoys classic hymns and older, more quiet praise. Both of my kids and I like music that has more of a modern flare and tends to be a little louder. None of these options are bad if the words are good and connect us closer with our Lord. Though many have their opinions on what music everyone should or should not be listening to, I believe we are all created differently. So why would we not praise God in our own way? God is more concerned on where our heart is when we sing His praises, than the opinions of what others believe it should sound like. It is most important to praise Him and spend time with Him, even if it looks different than how someone else does. Friend, just praise God! Whether it be in quiet hymns or modern tunes. For how blessed we all are with music and options that can connect us closer with our Lord and Savior.
