He is our light

Grass cannot really grow much in the bitter cold. It remains dormant as to conserve its water and energy. To be able to continue to survive and stay well, until the sun comes out again. In the warmer months it continues to really grow. Adding nutrients, like glucose, and warmth so it can be strong and have the essentials it needs to flourish. You know in some ways we are like the grass. If we don’t have the Son in our lives, it’s really hard for us to grow in ours. For His words are the nutrients our minds need to flourish. His hope and peace fuel for our sometimes-weary bodies. Without God things are colder, for He provides warmth for our hearts. His love and guidance are just the light in our lives our souls seek to find. He is strength for our days. Without Him we are just surviving; though with His hope we truly live. May we follow His light, for it is truly what we need to survive, to thrive, to have true life. Friend, like the grass needs sunlight to survive, we need God to truly live.

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

John 15:4 NIV

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Psalm 84:11 NIV

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
