I sat with God and told Him my story, although He already knew

He said come here my child; I will carry you through

I could not see His arms physically, though, I knew He did surround

For I felt His presence and knew it was His love that did abound

I know He sat beside me, as I did surly pray

For it was time with Him, where things began to feel okay

In psalms I did find comfort and in the promises of His word

Gave peace for my soul, with all that could be heard

I knew then, just as I have always known

That He does not forsake us, His love is always shown

For it is time with Him, where we can find peace for our soul

For when we walk with God, it is there we do feel whole

Won’t you too sit with God, for He wants time spent with you

Just as He does me, He will also see you through

In Him we find our peace and what we’re looking for

With a love that always gives, a love always in store

I sat with God; I knew that was a great place to start

For there is peace to be found, with the One who knows my heart
