Show a little grace

My husband and I were trying to get somewhere today. Although the person in front of us was definitely not in any hurry. He had stopped and waited at a sign, where we both had the right of way and then proceeded to go well under the speed limit. I wanted to vent my frustration and God of course, kept me humble. For it was a church vehicle that had picked up people that had needed rides to church. I felt very conflicted. One part of me was annoyed at them driving slowly, while the other part of me had a little more grace because of what the vehicles’ purpose was. Not only was God teaching me patience, it just had to be a church vehicle; making me feel bad for my annoyance. There are always opportunities to be frustrated with people or annoyed. Whether on the road, at the grocery store or in the school drop off. No matter where we are, there are frequent opportunities to be annoyed. However, I am learning, that it is better to be patient and full of grace, then filled with impatience and cynicism. For when we choose patience, we can see perspective. Maybe there are things we do not know about the other person. Maybe we need to slow down. Whatever the case, I have learned getting angry about it doesn’t make anything any better. Friend, I don’t know if you’re like me and learning this or not. But if so, may we allow grace, to replace frustration. For does Jesus not offer us the same?

Ephesians 4:2-4 NIV

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;
