I will admit that I am a sensitive person and when I love, I’m all in. Though this is a good thing, I am sometimes discouraged when not everyone reciprocates with that same kind of love. I will make reference about something such as this and how it hurts my feelings to my husband. He then reminds me that not everyone has my heart. I know there are many out there like me who wear their heart on their sleeve, so the saying goes. Even if you’re not as sensitive, even just simply loving people that don’t love back the same is discouraging. Although as Christ’s children whether or not we are loved back in the same way, we still are called to love one another and be kind to each other. That does not mean we need to not have boundaries, but that we still are to love people that give little love themselves. When people do not act lovingly, love them anyway. Still be kind and pray for them. This can be hard at times, but we must continue to. For showing love opens the doors to changing hearts for the better. Though if we reciprocate with the same hearts as theirs, we shut the door to showing them God’s love, care and mercy. May we choose to keep loving others just as God has always chosen to love us.

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
