There is a movie that I enjoy, although it is not a Christian one, I really like the concept of it. In summary, a man is extremely shallow and likes people based on their appearance. Especially, when it comes to dating. Fast forward a little bit and he is ‘gifted’ the ability to see people by their hearts and actions; instead of their outer appearance. This man for most of the movie, has no idea that he has received this ‘gift’. So, he goes around seeing people that maybe to the world’s standards are not very attractive, as attractive. He even goes to a hospital with children that are burn victims and he cannot see their scars and is confused why they are there. For he sees them all for how beautiful they are in their hearts. He even falls in love with a woman he would not have even dated prior to his gift, based solely on her outer appearance. What he had seen in this woman however, was so much beauty. For her character was beautiful. In the end his gift goes away. Although, this time he chooses to see the beauty in people by their heart and not their physical appearances. He values people in the end, based on character, actions, and their hearts. Friend, if our reflection showed who we were on the inside and not the outside; what would it show? Would we like what we see? Have our lives reflected the people that God created us to be? For God knows all parts of us, are we the people He intended us to be? Are we living an
d loving like Christ? For no matter how we look on the outside, it is who we are on the inside that matters, are we living like it does? For a mirror shows what is physical, but our character will always reveal what mirrors cannot. May we live our lives more focused on who we are in Christ and living accordingly. Also, may we see people as God does. By their character, their heart and their actions.

1 Peter 3:3-4 NIV
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Samuel 16:7 NIV
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Proverbs 27:19 NIV
As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.
