Considerate heart

My youngest son and I went to an amusement park. It was a beautiful day and we were both up for an adventure. My son had asked me to go on a ride I would not normally partake in. However, it was just him and I, and I did not feel comfortable with him riding alone. So, I agreed that we would go together. We stood in a fairly short line and then entered onto the roller coaster. As we started going up and down and around, I started to feel a little queasy; but it wasn’t too bad. Though my thoughtful son, was concerned for me and reached over and grabbed my hand to hold it. I smiled, for I thought how sweet it was that he was comforting me. After we left the ride, he eagerly wanted to know my thoughts on the ride. He also wanted to know if I almost passed out. I assured him that I was okay and though it was not too bad, I personally will not be riding it again. It wasn’t too scary, but as I have aged, I can’t handle the adrenaline of rides as well as I used to. However, I do not regret it for a second; I was grateful for the experience. Most of all though, my heart was filled with joy that my son has a considerate heart. I pray that as he grows, his consideration for others continues to grow and flourish. For just as God always considers us and express his love and care; we too, should express it to others. Whether it be a stranger, a neighbor, a friend, a family member, or even your mom. A considerate heart is a beautiful way to show love. For when we do, we are showing love to others and putting a smile in their hearts. I too am sure that this brings God much joy to see His children showing love to one another.

Philippians 2:3-5 NIV

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
