When my youngest was a toddler, he had spent some time in and out of the hospital, including being hospitalized. There was one hospitalization stay where he had spent around three weeks hospitalized. It was a very scary and serious time. My heart was breaking, my mind was a mess and the future was so uncertain. Everyday though I stayed by his side, prayers constantly being said. I had this devotional book that was given to me and I found myself reading it every morning, while he was still asleep. It was my quiet time with God. The words always had seemed to fit for what I needed to hear that day. It was in my faith where I found my hope, comfort and any bit of peace I could possibly have. If it were not for God, I don’t even want to imagine where we’d be. I remember hearing certain specific songs of faith, that would help my heart in those trying times. It was when he was feeling good, my son would smile and I would feel my heart filled with peace again and my mind begin to relax. After many doctors, tests and months; my sons doctor told me to try something to see if it works. I was skeptical and just gave it to God, as there was nothing more that I could offer. Suddenly, my son was healed. We do not know the cause of what had occurred, we just fought against the symptoms. Though what we do know for certain, is that God healed our son. God was always there watching out for my son, as he comforted my hurting heart. Just waiting for my surrender, as He them performed His miracle on my son. It has been years now and I look at my son playing joyfully, happily and healthily. As I watch my son, I am forever, eternally, grateful, for God’s watchful care and love.
Friend, it is hard to keep the faith at times, when in the midst of trials. Though it is faith in God and what He can do, that gets us through those hard times. It is in God, where we find comfort for our hearts, peace for our minds, hope in His promises. Whether in prayer, a devotional, a song, His word, or all of the above. It is in Him where when even things are uncertain, we can find certainty in His care and His love for us and our loved ones. God still is the God of miracles. He is the same now, as He was then. His tender love and care watches over us and our loved ones. It is in Him where our trouble, can find refuge. May we keep God with us always. For no matter what season that we are in, whether good or bad; it is in Him where we can find our strength and our hope to navigate all that we endure. May we surrender our lives to Him, trusting that He is in control. For He is the God of safety, comfort, hope, goodness, miracles and love. May we hang tight to God, on this journey that is life.
