The brain is a magnificent organ. It controls everything in our body. It tells our hearts when to beat, our lungs how to breathe, our body how to move. It is complex and intricate. Only God truly knows all that it is capable of. We must be careful how we nurture our minds. If we are feeding it negativity, it will often foster more negativity. If we feed it God and His goodness, we can nurture our faith; in doing so, find more joy. There have been times when I let my anxious thoughts get the best of me. Whenever I would start only thinking of my fear, I would lose sight of His peace. However, whenever I go to God when I begin to get anxious and I feed my mind His word, His hope, His promises; I find my peace. When I am allowing my thoughts to not stay focused on Him, I feel discontented and it affects all of me, even physically. However, when I keep my mind fixated on Him, things are so much better, in all ways. I have learned if I do not keep my mind on God, other things will try to take up that space. There is nothing that should consume our minds more than God. For in Him we have peace, without Him things feel so much more out of control. Friend, just as we need our brains to help us function well; we need God to always be on our minds to help us live well.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
