I missed it. The very last game of this season of baseball for my oldest son. Unfortunately, I could not be there as I was not feeling well. Though I could complain about it, I will choose to celebrate. For though this game I missed, I had the privilege of watching his other ones. It is easy to complain when things do not go as planned; though we must find ways to find a positive. A negative mindset has a way of clouding any bit of sunshine that may exist. When we focus on the bad stuff only, we have a harder time seeing the good. I will admit I was bummed I could not watch my son play today and cheer him and his teammates on. Although, I look back at all the games where I was able to be present and I am so grateful that I had the experience. Things do not always go our way or as planned, all the time. Though someday when God calls us all home, things will be perfect with Him. We must just hang tight to God with gratitude and thank Him for the good that we do have. I could have spent the evening in pity that I was not feeling well and could not be there. However, I am grateful to have made the games I did and to be able to be home resting. Friend, even when things do not go as we had hoped, may we think of our blessings. Especially the gift of salvation that He has given us. That is always something we have to be grateful for. For a heart that is filled with gratitude toward God and all the blessings He has given us; allows for us to better handle things and even find some joy, amidst our hard.
