Unwavering faith

There is a man with a strong love for God that goes around and allows for people not of faith, to challenge him in his. Every question, no matter how challenging that this man gets asked, he has an answer for. One that is biblically sound and that he confidently, boldly, yet kindly, answers. It as though he is standing there with a bat and a curve ball is being thrown at him and no matter what, he swings and hits the ball every time. I will admit if I were challenged to answer hard questions of faith, I may miss the ball at times. Though this man is so sound in doctrine and so solid in his faith that he does not falter. Wow, to be so wise in Gods word and grounded in faith! To know His word so well that one is always ready to defend and explain God to the unbeliever. Although I do not know how many hearts this man has brought to God, I can only imagine many. We must ask ourselves, are we so firm in our faith that we are ready to be challenged? For the world can so easily challenge us in our faith and try to persuade or distract us from staying grounded in it. Friend, we must be willing to always and at all times stand firm in our faith. For not only does this keep our hearts and minds on God, but it opens up an opportunity to tell others about the goodness of God. As I watch this man speak, I am encouraged and inspired to know Gods word better, so I too can boldly proclaim my faith. For there is nothing more wonderfully known, than to know God and His word as much as we can; and nothing more beautifully spoken than God’s word and words spoken of unwavering faith.

1 Peter 3:15-16 NIV

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
