The birds they sang, like a lullaby, a melody

Singing so sweet, so very lovely

The rain fell like a melody to my ears

Relaxing my mind and calming my fears

For the sound was soothing, the air was fresh

I knew that I needed, but to simply rest

The week had been busy and today was the day

To spend time with the Lord, to relax and to pray

On the to do list, there was only one thing to do

To pause for a while, to be fully renewed

Taking extra time with God to just rest my mind

For it is in the quiet, with Him, this I find

In the quiet my heart is stilled

My soul being refreshed and fulfilled

Peace and tranquility at its best

When I take the time, to with Him rest
