Both of my kids have done their share of kind, helpful, and generous things. Here are just a couple. When my oldest was young, he had seen there was a donation bin, that went toward sick children. He immediately walked over to it and gave every last cent that he had to it. Though it was not much, it was all that he had to give. My heart was full. There was a time when my youngest, was quite small and he too, gave. His school was doing a canned good donation to help struggling families around the holidays. He had been saving his birthday money that he was given, for something that he would really want. He made it clear that a good portion of his money would be to buying canned food for the needy. I was so proud of him. My children understood the importance of giving to those in need.
Often, we get fixated on ourselves, and we do not always reach out to those in need. Friend, even when my children were young, they knew that the value in people was more important, than the value in things. So, no matter our age, may we help one another; in whatever way that we can. Whether it is financially, with simply offering help in whatever way may be needed or with prayer. For we are all in this life together and we must help one another; just as we are called. For does not God, help us in our time in need?
