Love in action

My husband puts gasoline in my vehicle for me whenever he can. He knows I don’t like to, so it’s an act of love. I pack him a lunch every day for work. He is more than capable, but he likes the way I pack it. It’s an act of love. My oldest son knows lifting heavy things is not always easy for me, and so helps me when needed. It’s an act of love. My youngest, whenever I ask him to help me clean; he does. It is an act of love. Hearing I love you, is nice. Though seeing that love in action, is even better. Just as God so kindly shows in action His love, may we do the same for others. For love is not just meant to be said, but experienced. It is an action word and without the action, merely words. May we always show love in action.

1 John 3:18 NIV

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
