My husband and I celebrate our anniversary today. Admittedly, we are not doing something extravagant to celebrate. However, it is a busy Tuesday. One in which we celebrate all that is love. Love is not always doing something fancy or romantic. Sometimes it is simply loving one another through all the moments. The ordinary, the mundane, the hard, the grand. It is not always fancy date nights. Though every night with my husband beside me, is something I celebrate. It is going to bed and waking up with my very favorite person, that God has blessed me with. It is eating together, laughing together, watching our favorite show together. It is parenting together. It is aging side by side. It is being each other’s helper. So today we celebrate another year as husband and wife, but we celebrate something more than just that. We celebrate this life we are living out together, this life that we are building. Tonight, it won’t be a fancy dinner, maybe this weekend we will do more. Though I’m just happy celebrating another year, being married to my husband. For whether we do something, or nothing; it will still feel like a celebration. For everyday with my husband, is a blessing. For when God brings a husband and a wife together; that is always something to celebrate. 

Today may not be your anniversary my friend, but if you have a spouse; celebrate them today anyway. For they are blessings from God and marriage is always something to celebrate. Whether you have been married for years, or have only just begun; hug your spouse and thank God that they are on this journey with you. For marriage is a gift and a blessing; may we honor it always, as such.
