It is easy to be self-sufficient at times. We think we can do everything all on our own. We are so concerned with wondering if we are doing enough or we are too confident or prideful. My husband reminds me of this often. I will be doing a task and even though he is ready and willing to help me, I become self-sufficient. I try to do it all on my own. I then am typically reminded that I do need his help sometimes and that’s ok! Though initiative is good, when needed, it is okay to ask for help. For so much more is accomplished when I don’t go about everything alone. Not to mention, a lot less stressful.
This relates to our faith too. How often do we not have God walking with us constantly and we try to go about life on our own? Only to be reminded that we do need Him and that’s a good thing! Dependency on God is something we should always have! For He is the one that can help us in ways that only He can. He can make our load lighter, better taken care of and have the weight of it be less-stressful. When we find ourselves in a state of self-sufficiency, may we remember to go to Him. For the greatest accomplishments are always accomplished with God.
