I took the afternoon and with God time was spent

Reading His word and praying; and this is how it went

Tears how they flowed and prayers were said

I got out all the things, trapped in my head

All the things on my heart that weighed like gravity

I gave to Him and He took from me

For there is healing, when to God we give

For it is in Him, we can truly live

His words our instruction, our peace, our hope, for it is in His grace

We find what we need in this place

His love can mend, all that needs mending

We must with Him, take time spending

For when we are far from Him and disconnected

It is there where we find we are more discontented

We must take the time, to go to Him

Our greatest comfort, Savior and friend

I took that afternoon with God, and it is true what I did find

Peace for my soul and comfort for my mind
