We had the privilege of watching the solar eclipse. It was beautiful and such a neat experience. We had put on our special solar eclipse glasses, eagerly awaiting a uniquely special experience as a family. We watched from the beginning, as the moon continued to cover the brightly lit sun. A little over an hour had passed and the sun was barely visible with our special set of lenses. Whenever we took them off however, we were surprised that we were not surrounded by more darkness. Though around us it was darker and the air had become cooler; there was still light to be found. Eventually the moon revealed the sun again and everything was bright once more. We stood there, all taking in such a rare occurrence. Grateful for the privilege of something so extraordinary.
My husband made an important mention, that really had got me thinking. He had stated, that the sun is so bright that even as the moon had covered it, it still had found a way to shine through. Friend, God is like the sun. His love is so bright, that even when darkness tries to take over; His love still shines through. When we find ourselves being overcome and darkness setting in; may we remember to go to God. For He will always shine bright enough, to get us through whatever it may be that tries to consume us. For He is light, He is love and He will always come through for us.
