My children enjoy a good game of chess. The strategic planning of the next move, waiting to claim victory! This game has become a household favorite and is now a part of our nighttime routine. I will admit, I only recently have learned how to play. With that being said, I am not very good at it. Certainly not as much as the rest of my family. Although despite my defeat, I do not want to stop playing the game. I know in time; I will be as good as they are. Or at least better than I am now. Not to mention, even in my losses I am still winning; for I am getting quality time spent with laughter with those I hold nearest to my heart.
Life can be like a game of chess sometimes. We are thinking of our next move and wondering where to place all the things that are required of us. At times we are feeling victorious. Other times, we feel a little defeated. Although every day, we keep learning and trying again. The more we get up and do and be our best, whether we win or not, we begin to feel like winners. Sometimes because things are going just as we planned. Other times, we get better at things, with more practice. Though through it all with loved ones beside us and God guiding us; we can still feel like we are winning. For even if certain things are trying to take us out, we know we win with God and we win with love.

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
