We are our own people, perfectly designed as such. I have a friend that has had a tough life. Growing up, their parents had made some poor choices. They had gone through a lot of tough circumstances, that most people will not ever have to endure. Despite their circumstances, they chose to learn from those mistakes of their parents and make better life choices themselves. If you did not know their backstory; you would not know that, that was the life that they had went through.

  Friend, we are our own people and God has given us the freedom to choose daily who we want to be. Whether we grew up with a hard life or not. Though some circumstances may make things harder, we have the choice to get up every day and decide what kind of people that we want to be. We can learn from the mistakes of others or we can make those same repeated bad decisions. God will always be with us as our biggest cheerleader, cheering us on to be our best selves. He will always be there ready to listen and comfort us in the hard. He will always be there, ready to guide us on the right path. We are not other people and their choices. We can rise above those circumstances, with God by our side. Friend, I do not know if this resonates with you or not, but I know someone whom it does. Please remember, despite your circumstances, you are worthy of being the person that God created you to be. Pray for those that are making their own poor choices. But go to God and know that you are not them. You are you, and that is pretty wonderful. I am proud of you for rising from your circumstances and most of all, I know that God is too.
