It is easier to turn a blind eye, than to sometimes look and see
For at times, it is much easier, to worry about what revolves around ‘me’
To sit and eat fancily, while the poor look to be fed
Thinking only of ourselves and our wants instead
Buying fancy outfits or the latest and the new
While the needy are asking, “can you give up just a few”
While we think that our wants are needs, their needs are truly wants
So much that we do not need, no we truly do not
Wanting more, while others suffer will not fill the void inside
We must reach out to others, instead of turning a blind eye
For it’s in the simple act of giving
Where we find a lovely act of living
Giving to those in need, to ourselves we give back
The fulfillment for living as is called, in such a generous act
God has been so generous to us, with all that He has given
He showed us with His love, the way we all should be living
To give to those in need, we must choose to look and see
And learn another way of loving, called generosity

Generosity
Proverbs 22:9 NIV
The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.
