We stood near the freezer aisle, ready to move forward to our next grocery item. I was stopped though, almost purposefully as if meant to be, by an older woman. She was sweet, with a lovely smile, and a limp as she walked. Her grocery cart was filled and she spoke jovially. She started with small talk, that eventually led to her talking about her limp. She talked of her most recent surgery that made it harder for her to get around. She talked about her health problems a little. Though still stating it all with a smile. We talked, both enjoying the pleasantness of connecting with a stranger. Though through all the words that were exchanged it is a comment in which she stated, that stuck. For she looked directly at me as if I too were meant to hear it and stated; “I guess God isn’t done with me yet!” Those words seemed to go right to my heart. I agreed that God was not done with her yet, though her words played on repeat in my head. She continued forward and I left in the opposite direction. I walked on with a sense of deep joy from an unexpected friend and a reminder to myself; “I guess God isn’t done with me yet.”
Life is an adventure. Some adventures are good, some are bad, some are a mix of both at varying times. Though we all are here because we are meant to be. God has allowed us to still have breath in our lungs. Breath to fulfill His purpose for our lives. May we remember that no matter our circumstance, that we are here for a reason. That we can trust in His plan enough to keep pushing forward. Friend, her words echo as a reminder to keep truly living. Living a purposeful life for His glory. It took a reminder in the freezer aisle, from a sweet old woman, with a lovely smile, and a limp to remind me and to remind us all; “I guess God isn’t done with me yet.”
