I came home to scattered balloons laid out across my living room floor. Clearly my husband and youngest had fun while I was gone. I loved seeing how something so simple as balloons could bring so much joy. While they had been having fun at home, my oldest and I had been out and about. We had some good conversations, which I always enjoy. We all followed the evening with dinner and our favorite show as a family. While all of this may have seemed like simple things, these moments are what bring my heart joy. Quality time with my favorite people.

We live in a world that says bigger is better. That in order to have fun with loved ones we need to do big things. Although there is nothing wrong with doing big, fun, things with them; there is so much joy to be found in the little things too! 

Loved ones are such a gift from God and enjoying time with them is a blessing. May we soak up the big, fun moments with them, as well as the small, sweet, simple moments.  We cannot always do extravagant things with our loved ones; but we can make special memories with just simply enjoying one another.

Friend, God has blessed us with our favorite people; may we find joy in the ordinary and small stuff. With simply just enjoying their company. Whether that’s throwing balloons in the living room, having a good conversation, eating dinner together or watching a favorite show. Whatever that looks like for us and our loved ones; I hope we can relish in the blessing of one another. For maybe it isn’t just small stuff, maybe those ordinary moments become the big stuff; made up of a ton of special memories, with those we hold closest to our hearts.
