My youngest son really wanted to go the park. So, after dinner we headed out. Although it was a nice day, it was still pretty cold outside. Though through the cold air, my heart was warmed with the laughter of his giggles. We played made up games of lava and tag. Although I can’t run much right now, I still found a way to play. Honestly, this evening at the park was a highlight for me. It was a break away from the stress of recent events and it was filled with joy. Sometimes even in the bitter cold, we need to just step outside and breathe and relish in God’s great creation, with those we hold near and dear.
Friend, I know schedules can be filled up with business and sometimes life can be hectic. But I have learned that we must make that time to just breathe in Gods creation; both nature and especially, people. My dinner dishes sit undone in the sink, which usually would make me not very relaxed. However, I feel relaxed. Those dishes are a sign that though I will do them later as they need done; that we chose to spend time with each other. It is more important to take a breath and rest not from clean dishes, but a breath of fresh air with loved ones.
Take the time, to just take a breather my friend. Maybe it is a walk outside, maybe a swing on your porch swing or maybe it is an evening at the park. Whatever it is, get outside and breathe. God knew what He was doing when He made the great outdoors. There is something so special about His creation that brings us peace. This evening was just what we needed. Maybe it is what you need too?
