Forgiveness is an 11-letter word with a massive definition. It is a complex, sometimes difficult word to achieve. Though when we are able to fully accomplish this word, we are left with a sense of peace. For it is an act of love to master; for both others, and ourselves. This word can be connected to the word love, for forgiveness is an act of love. Through both forgiveness and love we are offered true life; both now and eternity. Forgiveness is a word that is healing. It is a necessary word to allow for peace and moving forward. It an essential word in an imperfect world. It is a word that must be utilized to have any hope now and in our forever. It is not always easy, but it absolutely necessary. Forgiveness is not to be confused with no boundaries; but healthy ones and establishing where to place certain people in our lives; but doing so in peace and grace.
If it were not for this very important word there would be no hope for salvation, no peace for our souls and hurt through error would overshadow any joy that both now and forever could offer.
I have had to do my share of forgiveness in my life. Some people are no longer a part of my life, but I have peace, as I forgave them. Other people I forgave and they are still a part of my life because I knew they were truly sorry. Some are still forgiving themselves, and I pray that they do. As that is all just as important as forgiving others. I have also made my mistakes that I hope others forgive me for. For we are human and without forgiveness how else can we make it?
God forgives us when we are truly sorry my friend. May we offer that same grace to others, for them and for ourselves. For a bitter heart that never accomplishes the word forgiveness misses out on all that it can offer and friend, it is not something you want to miss out on! May we love enough to forgive, knowing we too need forgiveness at times. In this act of love may we find our peace.
