Last night my youngest son snuggled up to me and wanted to hear stories about my past. I told him some fun stories that brought back good memories. We laughed and just enjoyed our time together. He told me that he liked to hear stories about my past and wanted to hear more. I told him that I loved sharing with him, but that it was getting too late and we’d continue these stories on another night. He sleepily agreed and I went off to bed having felt joy at both the reminiscing and that quality, precious time with my son.
Friend, life is busy at times. May we make sure to take out little moments from our day and really relish in the time with our children. I have learned how quickly time goes by. These days I feel like life is more dated on the growing of my children than on the calendar.
Children are such a blessing and we only get so much time with them before they are grown and become their own people and we see them less. Friend, may we truly take the time, to make all those precious moments count; for they truly are life’s treasures and gifts from God. May we love and nurture them as such.
