Know your worth

My husband and I were watching a home improvement show where what was being shown was all sorts of different home appliances and things of such. Some of the things we liked were placed at a low dollar value, while other things we deemed not at all nice, were considered top dollar. Some things were nice we thought, just not for our house. It is so funny how one person’s taste can vary so widely. My husband wondered out loud who gets to decide the value and price of those things. I thought the same thing. For it seemed like the things that we deemed valuable, were not the things considered top of the line. When it comes to home styles, generally speaking, I do not believe that there is a right or wrong. What we found interesting however, is how do these designers decide which one has the most value; especially being that many of us think so differently?

Friend, it got me thinking a lot about us as people. Many judge another’s worth by their own opinion, on what they see. Many judge quickly and deem another’s worth by whether they fit their personality or have the same interest. Though it is completely okay and normal to have different interest than others; we should be careful not to label their worth based on those differences. That despite our differences, we still have to be kind and realize that differences are not the same as worthiness. Another’s differences do not make them less worthy of kindness, compassion and love.

Friend, I love knowing that our worth is always found in God though and He says that we are worthy and so very loved. So, though we cannot stop the world from placing their own value on our life, we can choose to remember to be kind and loving to others and know they too are worthy just like us. Also, my friend, may we especially remember, that the only value we should care about the most, is the one in which He places over us. God not only says that we are valuable and loved; but that we are to die for!

You are worthy, beautiful, loved and cherished my friend because of what Jesus did for us. When we see our worth through God’s eyes, living our lives caring about what He thinks; it is there where we see just how precious we are.
