On the way to taking my children to their co/op school, the roads were covered with snow and somewhat icy. I had passed their school and had to turn around. In that process, we suddenly found ourselves stuck in the snow in our vehicle and not knowing what to do. My oldest got out of our vehicle to help us get unstuck and started pushing with all his strength in the front where it was stuck; as I accelerated it in reverse. We were however, unsuccessful and not sure what to do.
We were very close to their school though and one of the other parents noticed that we were in need. He immediately headed our way and with a shovel started swooping the snow out from underneath the tires. After shoveling for a bit in the bitter cold; my son and him were able to push me the rest of the way out. We were so relieved and appreciative; we were no longer stuck! Praise God for his help and the kindness of a neighbor!
Friend, we are so grateful for the kind and helpful parent. We should all be like that. When we see someone in need, reach out. Help in the best way that we are able. Even my oldest son in the cold got out and started pushing. It does not matter how old or young we are; we must offer a helping hand to one another.
We have all needed help at some time or another; may we be the helper when we too are called. For God has helped us so many times, in so many ways. Sometimes the way He helps, is by putting it in our hearts, to help another in need. Be a helper my friend. We need more in today’s world.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
